Well this is where I run most nights... Guess it is time for a new route! Recent shootings remain unresolved | | Story updated at 11:53 PM on Monday, May 14, 2007 Athens-Clarke police said Sunday no arrests had been made yet in the shooting that injured two people during a street fight early Friday morning in southeastern Clarke County. One man was shot in the leg and a female bystander was shot in the head near Lexington and Whit Davis roads when witnesses say a shooter opened fire from the porch of a house during a street brawl. Neither of the victims, Chadrick Knox and Cassandra Faust, received life-threatening wounds, and both were treated at Athens Regional Medical Center, police said. The victim of another recent shooting still was on life support Sunday, police said, but murder charges could be pending for the man who allegedly shot him in the neck outside a party on Westchester Drive on May 5. Dorunte Cortez Williams, 33, is in a Clarke County Jail after being arrested in Atlanta last week for shooting Stacy Demarko Barnett of Alpharetta outside a party on Westchester Drive. Doctors say Barnett, 29, might die if the life-support equipment is turned off. Williams currently is charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one county each of aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Williams previously served three years in prison for an involuntary manslaughter charge in DeKalb County before his parole in April 1999.
