I"m thinking of getting a G42 or G43 solely for the purpose of GSSF. In my hand they are nearly identical. I don't really care about ammunition economy between .380 and 9mm. Nor am I concerned about use or effectiveness outside of GSSF.

So.. any thoughts on which works better for GSSF? 9mm to work better on plates? .380 for faster times?

Side by side reviews rate the G42/.380 as less snappy.
My experience with the LC9 & LC380 with bulk ammo is the same.
Thanks. I can see a 380 with essentially the same frame + barrel length being easier to control.

I don't think you will have any problem with .380 on the plates and now days most events don't have the other steel falling. Speeds up the reset times. Personally I would go with 9mm because I don't do .380, but in your case .380 would probably be best.
