Would it misfire as often as cell phones drop calls?

In over a year of having my current cell phone, I don't recall dropping more than 1 or 2 calls.

Cingular - fewest dropped calls my @$$.

My phone can take pictures, send text messages, play games - but it still can't be used as a phone 100% of the time.

I have Verizon now. But, even when I had Cingular it worked just fine.

I've had Cingular for 3+ years now. I use to think that it sucked. Both my wife and I had Motorola V60 phones, they dropped calls all the time, sometimes cut in and out, and so on. She complained all the time and even had hers replaced by Cingular. Finally she switched to a Blackberry and the dropped calls went away. I replaced mine with a Samsung about 9 months ago and haven't had a single issue like I had with V60. Our daughter has a Razor, which is as big a piece of crap as the V60...once its contract is up, we will switch it as well. I'll never buy another Motorola phone. Funny as they use to be the best. (Did Microsoft buy them or something?)

Bottom line, it may be the phone and not the carrier.

I may have to trade up for one of those...

My wife and I have identical phones; some kinda Motorola flip phones from Cingular. No bells or whilstles, just phones.

    She's never dropped a call.

I can't talk for more than five or six minutes without dropping. That's not occasionally, that's every damn time I make a call! Short calls are fine. Anything over five minutes and it drops out. Call back and it drops again... and again... and again... etc., etc.

I really need a new one. What's the best free phone available? Just a phone? No camera, no games, no nothing else! Just a phone!!! Prefer to stay with Cingular, I mean ATT&TT, but whatever.

    So, any suggestions?

I mean, any physically possible suggestions?

Go to a Cingular store, steal a phone from a sales associate, and don't get caught. They always have the best phones.

For you older folks you need one of these: http://www.jitterbug.com

Mack, for you I would suggest the 3 button model.
