Yeah i think he was being a bit dramatic. The covid crap was wrong and terrible but our history has had worse for sure.

Wow, that is quite a list of horrible things the Democratic Party has done to America ….just add all the Covid intrusions to that list.

I think the unsettled nature of the Covid emergency with over 1 million dead as a result, is indeed one of the startling, sad chapters of our country and intrusion of our civil liberties, because of the fear.

Ehhh. In terms of numbers, those affected just a part of the population. The corona garbage affected everyone. It's been the one civil rights violation in our history that has affected every sex, race, and age group in the country.

All of the prior examples have been addressed and remediated. The Covid overreaction has not even been acknowledged as an error by many. Important facts on the efficacy of mask mandates and the impact on school-aged children and our overall economy continue to be suppressed as "misinformation". Until there is a reckoning and a correction, it remains the greatest Current, Unresolved civil rights violation of our time.

The worst of the Covid stuff happened while Republicans were in control both nationally and here in Georgia, so . . . you can't really lump it in with all of those things Democrats did.

Georgia's response to Covid sucked a lot less than other states. Several Red (Correction Blue) States are still all-in on the mask farce - witness the New York State Bar Exam kerfuffle. Only under extreme pressure did they back down from requiring useless fetish masks for a 12 hour in-person exam. The main issue with Democrats was that they willfully and intentionally suppressed free discussion and dissent at scientific and public levels so we could not oppose their massive power grab. That needs to be held to account. To our state government's credit, when they saw the cost and lack of real effectiveness, they opened things as much as possible, even in the face of public backlash from truly misinformed citizens.

I suspect you are thinking of the mask mandate. Nope, I meant the farce that cloth masks have any scientific proof of efficacy. They do not work, never did, and never will. Yet many states will not acknowledge the science (or lack thereof) and admit they harmed their citizens subjects irredeemably. Teachers are now seeing children who were subject to mask mandates in day care starting preschool unable to recognize facial expressions. Kids in school who did "remote learning" have far more behavioral problems than those that did not. Masks mandates were a net harm. Any other position is simply continuing the virtue-signaling, power-grabbing lie.

I don’t seem to recall any Republicans calling for mandatory vaccines. I do however remember a Democratic “placed in power illegally” President claiming everyone who did not get the vaccine would be dead by winter.
