Are you allowed to purchase a handgun at the age of 19 or 20 even if you're miltary personnel? And if so does the military personnel exemption for the GWL still apply?

Federal law requires one to be 21 years old to purchase a handgun from a licensed FFL dealer.
Federal law is silent (AFAIK) on 21 year old's purchasing a handgun from private parties.

The age restriction on carry is for obtaining a GWL. Under the military exemption, a GWL is not needed for carry.

IANAL
This! :righton: And, an eighteen year old can buy a firearm private treaty. I do not know if an eighteen year old service member can buy from an FFL. It would seem like they could. Anybody have any input?

I don't think service members under 21 can buy a handgun from an FFL.
