I would be a bit on the cautious side about being in front of this type of machine as it did a burnout.

I love racing, did plenty of it. Time and place for everything i guess. But I wouldnt stand anywhere in front or down range of this machine. Unless I was at an NHRA race on a real strip.

Sad story, very sad.

That was ridiculous. No way should spectators have been allowed to be that close to a car like that coming toward them. Hell ...they should have had some guys shooting full auto weapons as well with people lining the street....makes about as much sense to me.

I drag race myself.....at a track where the spectators are well back from concret gaurd rails.

The article states he was only supposed to burn his tires for 20 to 50 feet, which is one to 2.5 car lengths, for reference. In context, not ll that dangerous. This driver went on for several hundred feet.

When I saw this on the news my heart sank. :(

I was also outraged at the fact that people were lining the road on both sides. I don't think I would ever have stood there, I have seen to many accidents on tv.

Easy - kill switch, clutch, all kinds of ways to shut it down.

Anyway, this driver has not said anything like that.
