funeral home off limits?
i have to go to a funeral home because my wifes sister died the other day. ive tried searching for this but cant really find anything. is a funeral home somehow considered a place of worship or off limits somehow? is a cemetery considered a place of worship or off limits somehow?

ok. reason im asking is because the dead sisters husband is going to be there, and he had made numerous death threats to me before. but in all honesty, if the punk acts up tomorrow, id rather just pound his face in. the worst part though, is i dont even know what he looks like. the sister had show him pictures of me, so he knows what i look like.rmodel65 said:some funeral homes have churches in them...

Yes, some funeral homes have a Chapel, but can those Chapels be called a Church? Wouldn't a Church have to have a license, registration, or some sort of official standing as a Church? Just askin'...
I would presume the funeral home's business license is issued as a funeral home, and not as a church/ house of worship. Funeral homes can have a chapel in them, but they don't operate as churches.

There is nothing wrong with defending yourself if you're in bodily harm, but otherwise the phrase "in one ear and out the other" comes to mind. Personally, I would say a "place of worship" is a place advertised as a location for periodic meetings with the primary purpose of general worship/homage/respect for a diety, maybe with some kind of identifiable group. Being that a chapel attached to a funeral home is incidental to the purpose of funereal services, I'd rule it not such a place. Weekly Bible reading meetings at a home would be at a place whose primary purpose is a residence, not general worship, and not such a place again. But my opinions have no controlling legal authority, darn it! Obviously, there is room for a view "least favorable" to the defendent, just like government buildings.

My guess is that if you were carrying during the funeral in the funeral home chapel and someone called the police about a MWAG you could (and probably would) be arrested and the charges would stick. YMMV. IANAL.
