Fulton County Courthouse

So we all know that Court Houses are off-limits according to O.C.G.A. 16-11-127 (b) 2. However, I have reason to believe Fulton County is not following O.C.G.A 16-11-127 (d) 2. For those who don't have the code memorized, that is the section that allows you to approach a security checkpoint, ask how to deal with a prohibited item, and if you follow instructions on removing or securing the item, be immune from prosecution.

I received a Jury Summons from Fulton County this week and in big red letters it has the following message:

NOTICE: ALL PERSONS ENTERING THE COURTHOUSE WILL BE ELECTRONICALLY SCREENED FOR WEAPONS, POCKET KNIVES, CHEMICAL AGENTS SUCH AS MACE, AND ANY ITEM THAT COULD BE USED AS A WEAPON WILL BE CONFISCATED AND NOT RETURNED.

I am tempted to take a junk pocket knife and ask the security screeners what to do, just to see if they comply with the law.

I want to say that that provision was removed from courthouses not to long ago but I'm not 100%.
Catoosa County has several giant signs from the parking lot to the front door notifying you of prohibited items (which includes cameras, cell phones, and weapons). The deputies and metal detectors are immediately in the front door. I think they would probably argue that the signs are their instructions as to what to do (i.e., leave it in your car and screw you if you happened to walk or bike to the courthouse).

I think I understand the intended meaning of the above text, but it's not a coherent sentence according to any English rules of grammar and orthography, so I can't be totally sure. Maybe the judges should spend less time on security theater and more on literacy.
