Why would they not just remove restrictions from law abiding citizens altogether?
"Now, in the aftermath of the attack, a bill that would reduce the penalty for carrying a concealed firearm on a university campus from a felony to a misdemeanor may be passed by the Ohio Senate."

Because they have to charge someone with something for killing the attacker since he is dead and can't be charged with killing anyone. Someone has to pay for his crime...

This bill in Ohio was passed by their House last year, so it has been in the works for a while. It also has OPT-IN verbiage for campus carry, which as we all know there will not be one school that will OPT-IN.

They are trying to amend the bill in the Senate, but it does not look good for that to happen. They had Senate hearings this week and a boat load of antis spoke at the hearing according to people on another forum I read.

A large number of antis testified against the bill on 11/30 in the committee hearing. If you go here and click on "Committee Documents", you can see all the testimony.
