The short answer is - statewide. Although from time to time it is reported that renewals are issuing quickly.

All of the relevant briefs are available on a link by clicking here. http://georgiacarry.org/cms/?p=7

This fingerprinting is also causing another problem - the complete denial of temporary renewal licenses. Look here:

the legislation expands the grounds that qualify people from holding a license, meaning some people who have had a firearms permit for years may no longer be eligible.
What changes would make this happen?

I noticed Clarke County is not a county for which we have information on the temporary licensing issue.

2 changes were made, the first was "Any person not lawfully present in the United States"
The second was basically incorporating the Federal list of those who cannot purchase a firearm.
Which are anyone who;
Has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding 1 year;
Is a fugitive from justice;
Is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance;
Has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to a mental institution;
Is an alien illegally or unlawfully in the United States or an alien admitted to the United States under a nonimmigrant visa;
Has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;
Having been a citizen of the United States, has renounced his or her citizenship;
Is subject to a court order that restrains the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of such intimate partner; or
Has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully receive, possess, ship, or transport a firearm.

Yes, just call and ask about renewal time and ask if they are issueing a temporary renewal permit, (last 90 days, costs $1).
Post what they say in this topic or here http://www.georgiapacking.org/forum/vie ... 9&start=40
