According to an article in today's Forsyth County News, online, the Forsyth Co. sheriffs department is hoping to build its own shooting range instead of having deputies drive 50 minutes up to Pickens County for firearms training and qualification shoots.

Sheriff Ron Freeman is quoted as saying that he would like to see this range available to the public when law enforcement officers are not using it.

Would seem to be one of the reasons why Forsyth County officers are a bit reluctant to practice, even when steep discounts or free range time are usually offered to them.

Construct a decent 100-yard or longer range and the ROI could be Much less than 10 years as well as adding considerable added value to life in Forsyth.
