Honoring allies is one thing but this is getting old. How about actual direct action and calling this what it is Jihadist Terror?

It's a service I subscribe to. Whenever the is a Presidential Proclamation (or a day prior to the "normal days") is made, they send out an email blast.

So, before I retired, I was a manager at a large plant where we had three illuminated flag poles, so the flags stayed up all the time. I would replace and maintain them as needed and display at half staff when needed. One Memorial Holiday, the plant was down but my maintenance crew was working doing heavy repairs. When I arrived that morning, I went to the flag poles and dropped all the flags to half staff knowing that at noon I would put them back to full staff. I ventured up front around 9 am and the flags were at full staff, so I lowered them to half staff. The same thing happened about 45 minutes later and this time the lines were knotted around the cleat. I lowered the flags again and went up of the plant roof to see what was going on. The security guard was raising the flag on her rounds because she thought the lines were slipping and she was not aware of the Memorial Day tradition. We had a good laugh, then I lowered the flags again.

So, the new SOP in my home is that the flag will be flown @ Half Staff on only Memorial Day and *maybe* on September 11th, but right now...I am not flying it on that day...ONLY Memorial Day.

I had a slightly different reaction when I got my e-mail notification today. Even though I was well aware of what had happened, I just got really ticked off, mostly because of the idiotic mindset so many people have about these dang jihadist. Plus, even though I'm getting 2k rounds of 7.62x39 on Monday, I ordered some more. I'll be spending more time at the range too.
