I'd love to hear the thoughts of anyone who actually reads this article. Please post them. I don't really care what your opinion is, only that it be well considered and supported by reason.

A topic that again needs a full semester of discussion.
The Four Points on paper appear to give a path to counter the Feds overreach and downright abuse of the Constitution, but will they or could they work in 2023? Would not the Feds just abuse the Constitution even more to stop such actions? Would the political parties and the modern politicians such as we have even attempt some of these measures. Would the population most of which have no clue who Madison is, have never heard of the Federalist Papers or even have a working knowledge of the Constitution get behind some of the options in numbers that would matter. Would Corporate America and more importantly the modern press allow it to begin with?

I agree with the conclusion, but it will require people to be willing to risk things that have become more important to them than freedom. Those kinds of people are few an far between in the general population, and completely non-existent among politicians.

1. Disquietude of the people Government has developed effective means to deal with crowds of protestors they don't like. And manipulate media sources to get the outcome THEY want. Apparently they've read Madison as well.
2. Repugnance and Refusal to co-operate with the officers of the Union Political parties these days have a national strategy. Even in the face of protests from Governors on both sides of the aisle, the media story from the Right concerning Jan. 6th remained consistent and effective. And to this day the population (ref. #1) remains impotent. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/06/...parties-denounce-violence-at-the-capitol.html
3. The frowns of the executive magistracy of the State PLEASE! They may be the ones profiting most handsomely from the situation.
4. Legislative devices, which would often be added on such occasions One may hope... but in recent history, this tool remains blunt.
The ruling class in America is competent, strategic, and historically well read. It's actually pretty impressive how they keep the population arguing amongst themselves, while the policy perpetrators go unblamed.
