About Judge Clay:
Does this mean O is going to appoint the judge to replace him in our district?
Yep, with the advice and consent of the Senate of course. That is, assuming that the judge in the above story is impeached by the House and found guilty by the Senate.
What do you think these weapons are? Unregistered NFA weapons? Stolen guns? Scratched-off serial numbers? Remember the judge more than likely has a spotless criminal record (before this) and the judge is 16-11-130 exempted while here in Georgia.
There is already an opening in the Northern District. Judge Steve C. Jones of the Western Judicial Circuit (Oconee and Clarke Counties) has been nominated to fill the opening.
A Word on Judge Jones
To lose his position, he has to be impeached by the US House of Reps and tried by the US Senate, unless he resigns.
Yeah, I'm curious about how the handguns were illegal.
could it simply be that he had them while committing a crime?
Yes, it could.
Appears running his dogs isn't the only thing he likes to do.
He was just doing a little business with future Washington insiders and lawyers....
Looks like he has himself boxed in.
Possession of a firearm during commission of a felony?
Or will they get him for "user of controlled substance (prohibited person) in possession"?
This was the judge that sentenced Chris Benoit's doctor to TEN years in federal prison.
Someone is going into protective custody while in jail.
In his car counted as possession?
Sounds like a P238. Cocked, Locked, and Ready to Rock.
Sounds like this federal judge is in some hot water.
I agree, I think the "illegal weapons charge" is due to the fact that he had them with him while committing a crime. At least I hope so.
If they are talking about a P238, did he illegally convert it to a full auto? Just kidding.
Why does it no longer surprise me that a crooked Judge was found in Georgia?
Why not Nebraska, or Delaware?
I wonder if he attended Judge Diane Busch's Christmas Bash ... (?) The name list was never released - only other person who was listed was Senator Joe Wiles.
If drugs were legal he wouldn't be in trouble. He also probably wouldn't be getting his cocaine and blue pills from a stripper. Lord knows they are reputable.
Does this make it easier for the criminals he's put away to get out on appeals, technicalities, etc.?
