At past council meetings, Moorhead Police Chief David Ebinger said facsimile weapons can be a problem at things like private parties and they can also be used as a form of intimidation in domestic situations.

On Monday, he said he would still like to see a facsimile gun ban that extends to private homes, but he said the ordinance change given initial approval Monday would still be useful.
So....... they're upset that they couldn't ban toy guns in a home? How about plastic flowers or fake trees? Are those ok in a home?

Attempting to intimidate someone with a fake gun seems like a great way to get actually shot.

They are banning facsimile guns, but they made an exception for in the home, and some of the council members are upset, because terrible things can happen with facsimile guns in the home, and at private parties.
Terrible things can happen with fake guns at private parties?

Some of the city council members must be a bit too - kinky, let's say - for their own good.

Sounds like a great place for a proctologist to open his practice.

Hoo boy!

they can also be used as a form of intimidation in domestic situations.
Why stop with fake guns? Let's ban all forms of intimidation.

it was important to send a message to felons
I'm sure they're listening. I didn't know about this function of law: sending messages. Don't they have newsletters?
