"In a move that may either surprise, upset, or gladden individuals, the Texas State Senate voted 25-6 on Monday to allow teachers and school employees to keep firearms in their parked vehicles on school campus........

Essentially, being hired by the Texas school system is the only thing currently preventing teachers and those employed by the schools from exercising [their 2A rights] while at work."

If this bill becomes law then school employees can keep firearms in their vehicles. Granted, it's not personal carry but it's better than no firearm at all. Why is this bad?

The bill itself is not bad, the idea is that Texas is not as 2A friendly as many assume. Everyone BUT school employees is allowed by law to have a weapon in their vehicle at work is just plain crazy.

Sometimes I wonder if firearms/weapons policies wouldn't be better handled on a national level. :-k

The knife cuts in both directions. There are far more anti-2nd laws at the local and state level.
