I'm sorry Malum but your statement here renders any response to you as being totally pointless in my unlearned, oft times, downright stupid and lowly opinion.
There are others here more suited, in terms of temperament, intelligence and tolerance, to engage in thoughtful discourse with the likes of you, than I.
That statement of mine that you quoted is followed by very specific questions relating to whether the film does, indeed, back up the far reaching claims. It is interesting that you find responding to a post asking,
does the film back up its claims? as "totally pointless." It tells me that the very question is pointless to you. So long as the film offers confirmation bias for your tribe, then you cheer it on.
If confirmation bias is presented as evidence for the other tribe, then you would be quick to tear it to shreds and identify it for what it is.
My statement was that the trailer makes some pretty dramatic claims, so dramatic, that I think it would be difficult to support those claims with evidence. Then I ask questions about what evidence the film provides.
But "any response to [me would be] totally pointless," as if evidence does not matter.
I suppose to you it does not.
To me, it does. It matters
a lot.
I reach my conclusions based on evidence.
Others make up their minds and then search for evidence to support what they have concluded. You examine yourself to see which sort of mind you have.
The latter sort of closed mind is far more common than the former, unfortunately.
