Last week, drug czar John Walters said that people who grow marijuana are terrorists. 'These people are armed; they're dangerous,' Walters said. He called them 'violent criminal terrorists.'"

"Walters must be referring to people like Anthony Diotaiuto, a 23-year-old bartender and part-time student. ..."

"... the drug warriors conducted a pre-dawn raid on Diotaiuto's home, battering down his front door without warning When the raid was over, Diotaiuto lay dead in his closet, his body riddled with ten bullet holes. The drug warriors' story about what happened has changed several times since the incident. ... the drug warriors in all likelihood saved us from another dangerous, marijuana-smoking criminal terrorist."

Decriminalize it. Tax it to the point where it is still viable to purchase it legally. Stop throwing drug users in jail ... period.

What a waste of money and life, not to mention an enchroachment on everyone's liberty.

In Charlotte, N.C., drug warriors got a tip that someone there was distributing cocaine, so they burst into the suspect home using a flashback grenade. Four men were there playing cards. One of them, 56-year-old Charles Irwin Potts, was wearing his legally owned and carried handgun. The drug warriors shot him four times in the chest, killing him. The three witnesses, who believed the house was being robbed, said Potts' gun never left its holster. The drug warriors found no cocaine, and made no arrests. An internal investigation vindicated the agents.

Terrorists.... Ahhh yes now we can disregard all that constitutional stuff and use all the cool new Anti-Terrorism laws to treat these "terrorists" as enemy combatants. No rights, no pesky defense lawyers, no jury of peers, hell we won't even have to charge them. We'll just throw them in a foreign prison after we execute an "extrordinary rendition" on them.

Don't worry folks we'll only use these laws to fight terrorism. What's terrorism? It's whatever we say it is. Trust us we're from the government. We know what's good for you.

Study: Even Infrequent Use of Marijuana Increases Risk of Psychosis by 40 Percent

LONDON â€" Using marijuana seems to increase the chance of becoming psychotic, researchers report in an analysis of past research that reignites the issue of whether pot is dangerous.

The new review suggests that even infrequent use could raise the small but real risk of this serious mental illness by 40 percent.

Doctors have long suspected a connection and say the latest findings underline the need to highlight marijuana's long-term risks. The research, paid for by the British Health Department, is being published Friday in medical journal The Lancet.

"The available evidence now suggests that cannabis is not as harmless as many people think," said Dr. Stanley Zammit, one of the study's authors and a lecturer in the department of psychological medicine at Cardiff University.

The researchers said they couldn't prove that marijuana use itself increases the risk of psychosis, a category of several disorders with schizophrenia being the most commonly known.

There could be something else about marijuana users, "like their tendency to use other drugs or certain personality traits, that could be causing the psychoses," Zammit said.

Yeh, I saw that article as well gsusnake. I thought it was funny that they reached a conclusion, even though they couldn't use scientific research to prove said conclusion.

Unlike of course all the other research that has proven that marijuana does have beneficial effects for certain types of pain sufferers, glaucoma patients, those with AIDs and cancer, and has even been shown to reduce the risks of certain forms of cancer. On top of that it is proven to be less harmful than both alcohol and tobacco, our legal drugs of choice.

Oh well, I point that out to people and then get accused of being a pothead, even though I haven't seen a pot leaf in twenty years.

How's that war on drugs working for ya you prohibitionists?

It's getting to the point when I hear "terrorist" I'm starting to assume it's just a scapegoat or the current flavor of the month for government propaganda.

Same thing with WMD's. We couldn't find them in Iraq so now they're going after the ones I have in the safe
