This guy pulls a knife on 2 different people who each end up with a pistol pointed at him and he runs away from both of them. Unbelievable.

Too much pointing, not enough shooting.

According to the report, she was in fear for her life, so she got out of her car to to get her Ruger pistol out of her trunk.

Wonder if she Carrie's on her person now?

It's incomprehensible that there could be so much stupid in this article! #-o Mr. Hill should be on his knees seeking forgiveness and thanking God he's still alive.

On a more humorous note, it appears Mr. Hill came dressed for his soon-to-be new state furnished accomodations!

She may need to get the state permission slip. IIRC, FL does not require it for trunk carry or for a compartment in the vehicle front.

But I'd bet a nickel she does it.

Until recently, FL did not even run background checks for their carry license applicants. Dept of Agriculture. Real life is funnier than fiction.

Since 1986, FL has always performed NICS checks for their carry licenses. It's done through the FDLE. The carry license program was first run through the Dept. of State and now through the Dept. of Agriculture. Why? Accountability to the people. Initially the Sec. of State was an elected position but later became an appointed position. The Sec. of Agriculture is still an elected position. My last FL license was signed by Charles Bronson (no, not the "Paul Kersey" guy!).

Mr. Hill should’ve played the lottery, as he seems to have quite a bit of luck as to have confront two armed* victims and still be alive to tell the tale.

From how things read, the first individual would’ve had complete legal justification to shoot Mr. Hill in the moment. The woman, maybe not so much.

Fortunately for them, and in many cases, producing a weapon yields desirable results in getting the attacker to disengage.

*These two hopefully learned the value of keeping a handgun on your person versus having to retrieve it. “Car guns” are stupid.

No, I didn't. I read them all. The stories were fake news blown out of proportion because Adam Putnam, the current Sec. of Agriculture, is running for governor. The missing background checks were related to carry applications requiring additional review, a few hundred at most. Not the entire 200K+ applications during that time frame.
