A Memphis, Tenn., man is in critical condition Wednesday after his dog shot him in the back.

Police say King George, a 150-pound Great Dane, accidentally knocked a .22-caliber pistol off his owner's end table around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. The gun went off, hitting his 21-year-old owner in the back, MyFOXMemphis.com reports.

"I knew he was smart, I didn't think he was that smart," the victim's fiancee, Miesha Lucas told MyFOXMemphis.com. "He was always protective. I didn't think he would be like that."

Police do not plan to file charges in the shooting, which they've ruled as accidental.

But Lucas told MyFOXMemphis.com that she fears what her fiance will do to the pet once he gets out of the hospital.

She declined to give out her fiance's name.

Well I am going to have to keep a closer eye on my Dane. Did anybody ever see Bowling for Columbine? I remember that dumbass michael moore had a thing in there where a hunting dog shot the hunter, I guess we can expect to see this in his next movie.

Wait, so if the dog is really smart, he shoots his owner? Put me down for dumb dogs.
Yeah the whole article makes the owner's look like idiots. The dog is really smart so it has figured out how to shoot its owners and then the statement about the owner possibly kicking the crap out of the dog when he gets out of the hospital? Too bad the dog is such a crappy shot!

Well, if your dog is smart enough to want and know how to shoot you, I think it'd be pretty idiotic of you to leave a gun out for it.

Or if you prefer a more cuddly dog
:rotfl2:

Now I think this dog has issues with the owner making it wear that silly bow, and I will bet matching jogging suits and crap like that.

Obviously from the cigar, you can tell this is a surly dog and not some pussycat.
