The Department of Homeland Security is spending $40 million dollars to fund a “quantitative analysis†program for its Science and Technology Directorate. In a grant proposal published this month, DHS calls on colleges and universities to submit plans to support the Center for Homeland Security Quantitative Analysis.

they all seek redundancy, but not for the normal reasons where it is beneficial. government orgs/offices/departments are like little power empires. they all seek to grow and be more capable so they have more influence, and to justify and protect their reasons for existence. it doesn't matter if there are other agencies with the same capabilities...each want their own. it's just another example of why they remain extremely costly and inefficient even at doing what it was they were supposedly created for.

And you know they want their own. They don't like outsourcing to local LE.

Anyone know if the DC Library System is still trying to get armed overdue book collection agents?

This is how government and the two party system works.

Some of us can actually see it for what it is and realize that no matter what party you vote for, you get stuck with crap like this.

A Republican will pass it, and then a Democrat will come along and turn it into a scope monster.
