Why was he off-duty and unarmed?
With all the crazy people cops come in contact with I just dont understand why they arent armed while off duty.
I wish all cops would carry off duty. I remember one cop telling me that they are always on duty whether in a patrol car or in their own.
A lot of the people I know on the job don't carry off duty. I didn't at first, but when I went to supper one night with my wife and looked over at the next table and saw the guy that I had just been to court on that day for his conviction (lead to his loss of job) I had an epiphany and haven't left my house unarmed since that day.
Amazing how that will spark a difference in opinion. I am glad you carry!
Be safe, Legacy38.
I did not carry off duty when I first went to work, either. It is rare that an officer does, and many do not carry off duty even after years of working.
I don't stay on our guys about off duty carry as that is their choice, but if I see them in anything identifying them as an officer I will address the issue with them.
So legacy is a supervisor?
hmmm does he have those fancy stripes on his uniform? Maybe even some other high ranking jewelry perhaps???
Inquiring minds would love to know, but understand for sake of privacy if he never reveals! Just nice ot have LEO presence.
No pressure,...............(meant in a very nice tone)
Big +1 on that. It's nice knowing there are LEO's out there who do the job the way it is supposed to be done.
Yes. I am a supervisor.
woo hooo, every little piece of the puzzle adds up!
Just playing legacy. You're a great addition to the site!
Nothing spectacular either way as far as the job goes. I'm proud of what I do, and I've done some good work. I've been sworn by a couple of agencies and have worked under mutual aid agreements and in joint ops with others on various levels from local, state, and federal. The only reason I don't openly say where I work is that I don't want to get called to task here for stuff related to my agency, and I don't want any post that I make to be taken as any kind of policy statement or official pronouncement from my agency. I appreciate y'all respecting that.
Absolutley Legacy! Its great you have a sense of humor and some great insight.
And most of all common sense!
