I didn't at first, but when I went to supper one night with my wife and looked over at the next table and saw the guy that I had just been to court on that day for his conviction (lead to his loss of job) I had an epiphany and haven't left my house unarmed since that day.
I don't stay on our guys about off duty carry as that is their choice, but if I see them in anything identifying them as an officer I will address the issue with them.Malum Prohibitum said:I did not carry off duty when I first went to work, either. It is rare that an officer does, and many do not carry off duty even after years of working.
So legacy is a supervisor? :?legacy38 said:I don't stay on our guys about off duty carry as that is their choice, but if I see them in anything identifying them as an officer I will address the issue with them.
Big +1 on that. It's nice knowing there are LEO's out there who do the job the way it is supposed to be done.Sharky said:Inquiring minds would love to know, but understand for sake of privacy
Nothing spectacular either way as far as the job goes. I'm proud of what I do, and I've done some good work. I've been sworn by a couple of agencies and have worked under mutual aid agreements and in joint ops with others on various levels from local, state, and federal. The only reason I don't openly say where I work is that I don't want to get called to task here for stuff related to my agency, and I don't want any post that I make to be taken as any kind of policy statement or official pronouncement from my agency. I appreciate y'all respecting that.Sharky said:woo hooo, every little piece of the puzzle adds up!
