As part of the program, several D.C. detectives will be deputized as ATF officers, allowing them to cross borders to investigate guns that end up in the District.
. . . the unit will employ "high-intensity traffic stops," pulling over cars for minor offenses to try to establish probable cause to search vehicles. . . .

For Sloan, the first goal is for the unit's officers to be "as legally aggressive as possible"
The 2nd Police District in upper Northwest is omitted because it has relatively low rates of violent crime and gun recoveries, Bray said.

Yeah.

What budder said.

They're from the government, of course they're only interested in helping us. Helping us and all other citizens. How could anyone possibly misconstrue their actions or misunderstand their intentions and be upset by either? Well, unless they're paranoid... The only people who should fear the government are the criminals.....! The rest of us have absolutely nothing to fear or even to be concerned about. The government is our friend. Our protector... even.
