owns land?

When it comes to K-12 schools, if the school or the school Board owns the land, the school law itself isn't always triggered. The next question we must ask is: "Is the land being used for elementary or secondary education?" See 16-11-127.1 (a).

But for colleges and universities, the use of the land doesn't matter. That's not part of the law, the way our legislature wrote it. Instead, the question is simply whether the place is in or on the campus of any public or private technical school, vocational school, college, or university.

So is the Kennesaw Cracker Barrel "on the campus" of KSU?
Can a university own land in the same general area as their campus, but not have that other parcel of land count as part of the campus because some non-university properties separate it from the rest of the campus?

I truly don't know.
Man, we really need to take Code section 16-11-127.1 out behind the barn, put a black bag over its head, screw a suppressor onto our pistols' muzzles, and put this worthless SOB of a law out of OUR misery.
