According to early reports from neighbors who witnessed the shooting this past Thursday night, Harris was shot and killed "almost immediately" after exiting his vehicle.
He appeared to be trying to communicate with the officer via sign language.

Even a person with good hearing cannot hear a siren when speeding on the interstate.My wife is HoH and I can't recall how many times she's been pulled over. None took more than a few hundred yards for safety and certainly not 7+ miles. She checks her rear-view and side mirrors more frequently than most because she is afraid of missing an emergency vehicle and not getting out of their way.
