My soon-to-be in-laws own a house on the GA coast (Brunswick) every time I visit with my fiancee, I love to take the dog to the beaches on St. Simons Island.

Would I be breaking the law if I were to carry concealed (with a GA Firearms License)?

As I understand it, GA beaches are under the auspices of the DNR. If so, can they be considered "recreational areas?" I see a list of state parks and historic sites on the GA website, but no mention of recreational areas.

    Thanks.

There are some state parks and historic sites on St. Simons Island (great place, by the way). I am not aware of the beaches in general being state parks. I carry there. Maybe I just haven't been caught yet . . .
