ptsmith brought up this idea when a new member commented about not knowing what all the abbreviations that we use mean. Could we put a sticky somewhere with a list of them that would help newer members understand what we are talking about?

Edited due to numerous typos and horriblr grammar..... I think I need more more coffee

LICENSING/CARRY

FFL = Federal Firearms License (firearms dealers)
C&R/FFL03 = Federal Firearms License for Collectors of Curios and Relics
GFL = Georgia Firearms License (what you need to carry, commonly mistaken as a CWP, CCL, CHP, "pistol permit" etc.)
CC = concealed carry
OC = Open Carry (or oleoresin capsicum, which is the fancy way to say "pepper spray")

POSTING/INTERNET ACRONYMS

FTFY = Fixed That For You (when you've changed another's quote for humor value)
FYP = Fixed Your Post (see above)
BTT = back to top. A rather annoying way to "bump" sale threads.
FTW = For The Win. Celebratory, used when something good happens. There's an alternate definition too but I won't post that here as it contains a four-letter word.

I know there's a million more but I worked all day and I'm tired... off to bed.

I think GS1 should make a one-post sticky thread. That way everything is in one post. It'll probably be easier to sort through that way. Suggestions can be taken in this thread or by PM. That should work fine.

But

BUT even though a BG is a bad guy, a BUG is not a Bad, Ugly Guy. It's a Back-Up-Gun, normally a really small one that would otherwise be laughed at as a "mousegun" except you don't laugh at guys who carry two guns, just in case they can't kill you dead enough with the first one.
