Anyone have any issues open carrying at public events at these county owned properties?
If the Galleria Centre is the one connected to the Waverly we OC there during every GCO Convention and to my knowledge have never had an issue.
I wonder if that would be the same experience for operas and other shows at the Energy Centre.
Their director of operations, Ms. Pollock, believes that their "clients" can set their own weapons policies for the property. I've emailed their CEO, Ms. Swann, with a beg to differ email and copied their attorneys. Let's see what kind of response I get.
CEO Swan emailed me that the authority which oversees the property is housed at and meets at the Energy Centre and Galleria.
Anyone attend events there such as concerts and plays that have limited ingress?
I went to the Atlanta Ballet's Dracula there about a year and a half ago. I don't remember there being limited ingress, but may be mistaken.
were you carryin'...
There were no security screening at the Galleria at the time of last years GCO convention. I highly doubt there is now.
As far as Cobb Energy Center I don't know, I've never been there.
Sometimes I enjoy the 5th amendment just as much as the 2nd.
hell every convention ive oc in the galleria to eat lunch no scanning are any bs
Any update for the Cobb Energy would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Fwiw, 6.25.16 No wanding, nor problems entering.
I went to see Peter Frampton tonight (Tuesday) at the Cobb Energy Center. No wands...no molesting...just walked right on in.
The show was excellent....for a 66 year old, he can still play!
The Cobb Galleria Center at 2 Galleria Parkway appears to be a government building that is operated by and host meetings of a government entity. Therefore when they have security screening in place they are truly off-limits to carrying.
But if they don't restrict the ingress or screen visitors, then they should not be off-limits to GWL holders.
I'm here to see a campaign speech by Trump's V.P. --- Mike Pence.
Galleria Centre security says there will be screening, no weapons allowed.
Doesn't he fall under the "special security zones" power that the federal government granted itself to make the Secret Service's job easier?
It was a federal security checkpoint, staffed by TSA screeners and Secret Service.
Watched Shen Yun tonight, no wands/detectors.
Went to Shen Yun this afternoon and there is no screening. I am glad it's not a "gun free zone", and I will be happy to attend other shows there in the future because of that.
The question is, would they let you in OCing.
