Citizens Academy

I have the opportunity to attend the powder Springs police Department Citizens Academy and I am wondering if it is worth the 3 hours a week for 10 weeks plus a 4 hour ride along?

I would appreciate input, especially from curent of former LEO's.

I enjoyed the CPA I attended when I was back in Houston. It was 13 weeks, 3 hours a week, with two Saturday "practicals" consisting of 1 range day and 1 crime scene investigation day. I learned some, but not a lot. I enjoyed the experience immensely, though. I befriended more officers, was taught how to do building search by a SWAT team member, and had a lot of fun. I just wish Fulton County or SSPD/APD would host a CPA.
