Sumac Creek Shooting Range
I used to shoot there all the time as a boy growing up. I lived in eton so its just a short ride. Sumac creek is a nice range and they are open your standard range hours....(not in the dark and on sundays i think) Do be aware that this is only a 100 yard range. If you need a longer range your gonna have to travel a bit.
That's the range I always go to. I prefer it to the John's Mountain one between Dalton and Calhoun. It is open from sunup to sundown (as opposed to arbitrarily closing at 5 pm like John's Mountain). Be careful, though. The parking area's a muddy swamp right now because of the new restrooms they built.
I used to shoot there years ago before I joined a private range. I found that during the week you could have the whole range to yourself a lot of times. That being said weekend shooting was something I generally avoided if at all possible, mainly due to having to wait a long time to shoot and unsafe firearm handling by people.
My 2 cents,
