Here is a scanned copy of Cheorkee's app that I picked up yesterday.

They are still using the oldest form that requires SSN and employment info.

Not only that, they attach additional sheets that require specific types of SSN documentation, claim that the wait will be 3 to 6 months due to delays by the FBI & GBI, and they claim that the GFL no longer exepmts one from a NICS check.

    It's disgusting, really.

I got the newest from Floyd county, the optional version.

She had to find the new version, which makes me think she is still using the non-optional if I had walked in to apply.

I didn't think NICS is called a 3 day waiting period?

Well unless NICS fails to answer.

I think, officially, NICS can take up to three days.

    Where's Bullock?

But yea, I like the line in that app that says it'll take 3-6 months because of the large volume of applications...I don't believe that for some reason...

It just seems to be strangly worded. NICS took over the 3 day waiting period as it was and made it instant as long as NICS responded.

So not having a GFL does not make you subject to a 3 day waiting period, unless NICS breaks down.

I just applied in Cobb Co. today and got the form asking for my SSN. I was not aware, at the time, of the change in form. They also told me it would take four to six months to get my GFL.

New to GCO and this forum.
