Deplorable bitter clinger.
This is an interesting study on freedom and ranking of the states by the CATO Institute, in terms of policies that affect economic and personal freedom for citizens. There are a lot of categories that CATO examines. New York is 50th and worst overall for freedom, California right behind them at 49. The bottom five rounds out with Hawaii, New Jersey, and Maryland. You all can probably guess some of the best states for freedom: top 5 from the study were South Dakota, Oklahoma, Indiana, Alaska, and the top state was New Hampshire. Georgia comes out at 22 out of 50 overall.
