    The syntax
    Code:
     <a>Text</a>
    gets stripped down to
    Code:
    <a>Text</a>
    I believe the same thing happens with images. Why does this happen and can we fix it? It's really annoying having to use the retarded BBCode.

    EDIT:AKJS:LSJD:KASJDAS It happens here, too! Even in Code!
    <a>
    Text
    </a>

    Doesn't work

    EDIT2: I HATE THIS FORUM

    Allowing HTML on a board is just asking for something to happen.

    Another phpBB board I post on had a no HTML rule that they suspended... three days later, the board went down from a hack.

    What is so hard about typing this?
    Code:
    [url=http://]Linked Text[/url]
    What I do is type out everything I want to say, then if I want this "text linked"
    after I am done typing I highlight "text linked"
    click on the URL button
    then after the code is inserted I add an = and paste the link after it.

    Judging from the fact that even I can do it, I would say that it is not hard at all.

    Because typing [ and ] is a lot harder than typing <and>. And because I don't want to juggle two link commands in Texter.

    What was Spock's solution? Mine would be to shoot the computer and declare the game stupid.

    Guns solve everything!*

    *Maybe someone from CBS will get linked here from the GCO site and quote this in an article :p

    What? You didn't see the movie? He walked right into the warp core and realigned the dilithium matrix with his bare hands, thus saving the ship but sacrificing himself (radiation poisoning) in the process.

    If you consider holding the SHIFT key down as that much exercise then we should change your name to Butter instead of Budder. :roll:

    Blasphemy!
    GO RENT THE MOVIES and WATCH them. You don't have to get all goobie trekkie and memorize them or anything like some people

    but at least be familiar with popular culture!!

    Actually, <> require the shift key. I have Texter set up for html links, but not BBCode links. Juggling two shortcuts for the same function is a silly waste of time. I'm not sure why HTML will take down the board, but if you guys want to :foilhat:, I'm not going to stop you.

    I'm a site admin on another PHPBB, and I was once a senior security troll. It's not paranoia that fuels my recommendation; it's experience.

    Wow. I feel so woefully inadequate to participate in this discussion. And to think I paid good money to learn FORTRAN in college. When we got Decwriters at 110 baud, it was so cool that we no longer had to use IBM cards. We could TYPE stuff and the computer could read it. Just a few decades later, I have no idea what you're talking about.

    I'll just have to sit back and

    :popcorn:
