From Clayton Cramer's Blog:

The New York Times: Too Stupid To Breathe Without Assistance

They just ran a news story intended to attack Bush and the Republicans as threats to national security--because the detailed documents captured in Iraq provided information about nuclear weapons design:

Last March, the federal government set up a Web site to make public a vast archive of Iraqi documents captured during the war. The Bush administration did so under pressure from Congressional Republicans who had said they hoped to “leverage the Internet†to find new evidence of the prewar dangers posed by Saddam Hussein.

But in recent weeks, the site has posted some documents that weapons experts say are a danger themselves: detailed accounts of Iraq’s secret nuclear research before the 1991 Persian Gulf war. The documents, the experts say, constitute a basic guide to building an atom bomb.

...

Among the dozens of documents in English were Iraqi reports written in the 1990s and in 2002 for United Nations inspectors in charge of making sure Iraq had abandoned its unconventional arms programs after the Persian Gulf war. Experts say that at the time, Mr. Hussein’s scientists were on the verge of building an atom bomb, as little as a year away.
But wait! "Bush lied" about WMDs. And now the New York Times is admitting that documents we captured in Iraq show that they were actually pretty far along in their program?

The Left just assumes that we are all so stupid and can’t remember what they said yesterday. Unfortunately, many in the country are that clueless!! If you look at what these whack-jobs say from day to day and month to month, they will change the story over and over to fit their agenda at this moment.

When you have the terrorists publicly stating they want the Democrats to win, nothing else really needs to be said in my opinion.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but was not Bush's argument that Iraq already had weapons? I don't remember Bush saying that they may possibly be able to make weapons in the future and we should go into Iraq to stop them.
