I called today to find out the status of my license because it has been almost six weeks. I tried to talk to the lady about carrying on your person. She seems to think that the license is only to carry in your vehicle concealed and no where else because "this is not the wild west". They really need some help here. :screwy:

The person actually said this?

You need to get that on a recording.

she said you can't carry in wal-mart because it is a public gathering which is "anywhere that people are gathered". she then asked me "why do they escort you out of wal-mart when you buy a firearm if it is legal to carry there?"

kutless,

There is an email link for Probate Court Judge: Johnnie E. Crews on this website:

Send him an email. He works for you and should be glad to help. I'd also let him know what you were told by the nice lady at his office.

This! :righton: Each one of us, who discovers (read "uncovers") a problem, should feel obligated to see it through until the situation is reversed. We are a team. Collectively, we can accomplish a lot (Yea GCO!), but individual efforts have accomplished so much. Power to the people!

I would encourage the OP to take the initiative, and get the credit, for enlightening the folks in Brantley County. He's already started the ball rolling. Now, maybe deliver a copy of Georgia Gun Laws, in plain English, as offered at the top of this page. Ya' might even take a yellow highlighter and hit the good points.

We're ready to back anything you do.

The exasperating part is your paperwork is just sitting in a dead pile. Some person is not doing their job. Maybe they're lazy, maybe they're a beaurocrat, or imposing their anti-gun beliefs. Proof positive is another GPDOer just posted about getting their GWL in about 24 hours.
