Just now sent this email to them, and copied the Mayor and Police Chief.

Subject: Blue Ridge Jazz Festival - Weapons Policy

Dear Festival Officials,

I noticed on your FAQ page at http://blueridgewineandjazz.com/faqs/ that weapons of any kind are not permitted.

Georgia has state preemption of weapons, and if the festival is held on a public street corner, neither you nor the city has any authority to ban the lawful carry of weapons on public property.

Citizens with a valid carry license may in fact carry their firearms and knives openly or concealed at the festival, as is their right under state law.

An unlawful arrest of a lawful carrier of weapons will result in litigation.

If you want to ban weapons, then hold the festival on private property.

Best regards,

Phillip Evans

I wonder if they've recently gotten the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Macon Cherry Blossom disease?

When you get their responses a day after the festival you will share that, correct?
