Normally I would question the wisdom of renting 8 Mercedes limousines for mourners and planning a £100,000 'big send-off' for a common burglar....
but in this case I completely agree; anything to deplete that clan's funds is just fine by me. Hell, throw Pound notes in on top of the scum bag's coffin for all I care.

NB 'catapult' v 'slingshot' is just another example of the difference between UK and American English, just like bonnet and boot. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/catapult

When they article said someone was carrying a catapult I had to scroll down for the picture just to see how big the guy was. What a disappointment.

Who the hell is (was) Henry Vincent and the Vincent family? Mafia? Gypsies? Outside of the obvious need for screwdriver regulations and related permitting in London, just what the heck is going on here? When does a thug's family get $140k for a funeral? Why was the homeowner arrested for exercising self-defense? Oh - strike that - I briefly forgot it's England.
In my own depressed curiosity of this ridiculousness, here is what I found:

Sooo, it appears to be a family that is well-established to defraud the elderly in the area and, outside of a few slaps-on-the-wrists, seems run relatively unchecked and enjoys celebrity-level media attention.
Meanwhile, the 78 year old victim of the burglary was charged and held on murder for defending himself and his elderly wife, and the charges still haven't been dropped.
    Nice job England. Well played.
