I can tell you that Beretta doesn't make junk firearms.

I see the Cougar series pistols in the SOG catalog I get every month... The 40 cal runs around 420 bucks. It's a DAO only pistol. It's usually advertised on the same pages as the Smith & Wesson 3rd gen pistols... 4046, 4006, 4026. They range from 280 to 330 bucks. The Glock 23 on the same page is 350$.

They're good guns... are they worth more than a smith or a glock.... I dunno. I'm basing my entire response on the latest SOG catalog, lol... a good deal is a good deal, that's up for you to decide.

It's definitely not a piece of junk. It just seems more pricey than similar firearms. To me.

Local store here has two LEO Beretta Cougars for sale, first time I have ever seen one, not impressed. And they are double-action only, but have 15 round magazines.
