If I host them they are limited in size to 100x100 and 10kb, if hosted elsewhere it there is no forum limit, however I do limit it to 150 pixels width.

Okay, I want an avatar, but I don't know how to resize or reconfigure images on a computer. For now, I chose this pile of ammo from the free avatars offered here under my "profile" options. But I'd really like to have an image of the "noisy cricket" from the Men In Black movie. I have a couple images of that mousegun saved on my computer, but they're too big in file size. How can I make an avatar out of them? I don't have any special photo-editing software and I'm not registered at websites where such images are regularly traded.
