In the last 2 weeks, we had 3 citizens taking down burglars in the CSRA (Augusta area).

2 dead, one with a serious wound in the neck...

I kind of hope it continues to roll like that. We might end up with one of a heck peaceful place when the BG will all be down.

Thank you

One was an 84 year old man who shot a female burglar.

AUGUSTA - A woman who tried to burglarize a backyard storage building Friday morning was shot by the homeowner, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

Frank Sams, 84, fired one shot from his .38-caliber handgun, striking the unidentified woman once in the left side of the neck, Investigator Lt. Jimmy Young said. The incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m.

The woman was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics and was listed in critical condition. She underwent surgery and subsequently was listed in stable condition, Young said.

Sams has not been charged, Young said.

Sams, who had been victimized by earlier break-ins, decided to sit on his back steps and wait for the burglars to return.

It was the third time in less than two weeks that would-be burglars have been shot by potential victims.
