Would be interesting class to take. I imagine it's run, hide, barricade yourself inside a room.
Can't imagine that its very Pro-2A, particularly given they are holding it at the library. Wish more departments were like the Bibb County department that holds weapons training classes and opens their pistol range to the public one day a month.
Oconee County next door holds pistol classes at an outdoor range. I can not imagine the Athens Police Department doing similar. The liberals in charge of Athens/UGA/Clarke Co. are the ones that hire the Police Chief.
Is not the Athens Regional Libary ok to carry at? This seems more of what to do in case of an active shooter not a pistol class.
They DO tell the class to run. They do not tell them to hide unless there is no way to escape. All of these classes say that if running and hiding is not an option, or if the killer finds you hiding, then FIGHT.
They also typically have information about what to do when the police arrive, such as, do what they tell you and drop the weapon!
I hate the "Civilian" in the title, as if police are military and not civilian.
For those interested "Run, fight, hide" is the core of most of these courses. You can find it on YouTube
They were using "proletariat" until a civilian complained.
They will probably show the DHS video.
Do some looking and you will find the British have gone to a Run, Hide, Call (the bobbies) response plan.
Yes, the attitude that made the Empire what it is today!
The British? I thought they went straight to the just play dead until it really happens plan.
I didn't hear or see anything about the use of real weapons. Hmmmm......
That's because the vast majority of persons no longer carry real weapons. I would venture a guess that most weapons carry license holders in Georgia do not carry real weapons, either.
Just exactly what do you mean by "real weapons"? I don't carry an M1 with me everywhere but I do have a sidearm, or are you qualifying them by caliber and capacity?
A sidearm is a real weapon. I hope that helps you to understand the discussion that moe and I were having.
Thanks, so much. I got the most Georgians part but you believe that most GWL holders do not carry at all?
I bet that most GWCL holders do not carry at all.
So would I. My wife and mother both have permits - neither carry routinely. My wife never carries, my mother carries very rarely.
Like I said. Run, Hide, Fight.
Liberty University has it right in their New Student Intro video.
Sidenote, LU has a law school, Medical School and Dental School on campus also.
That LU video is excellent. I liked this video a lot, too. This video came out right after the Pulse Nightclub mass killings.
Sheriff Ivey is one of the better sheriffs in FL and he even supports open carry!
