Young man I know is wanting to join.
He has met with the recruiter etc.
It was recommended that he partake of these 2 choices:

25B Information Tech Specialist
35F Special Electronics Device Repair

He wanting me to find out from some of you that are currently active what the jobs entail, and which would benefit him more
in civilian life.

Anyone have any input that I can pass along to him ??

DO the research as far as what the training certifies or license you in in the Army. Some MOS's will require a Civilian certification by the end of your AIT (School). For instance Combat Medic requires NREMT (EMT).
At that point see what the civilian market is for that and what the pay is like.

As a general rule of thumb it is good to look at IT, Medical, Legal.....via the military, those jobs will almost certainly get you a good civilian job when you get out.
Basically think, how can I do this as a civilian if and when I get out.

I hope that he makes the right choice and I hope that he enjoys his time in the military, it was a great 13.5 years I was in.

He could join the chair force, at least they do it right. They send to officers out to get shot at while they stay on base drinking beer. :shattered:

Tell him to look at what the civilin market requires for what ever MOS he is interested in. IF the military doesn't supply him with the required certs he will need to get them before he gets out if he wants to continue in that chosen profession.
