Yes, I know, Easter weekend. wife will be out of town and I am considering going. It is recommended for experienced shooters, having completed at least one Appleseed. Anyone else?

This is an intermediate level class for centerfire rifle shooters. Attendance at a traditional Project Appleseed clinic (25 meter event) is required prior to attending a Known Distance clinic. This is not a beginner class for new centerfire rifle owners. This is a class for shooters who have some experience with their rifles but who desire to learn effective longer distance shooting. We will not spend a lot of time on fundamentals of shooting as we do at one of our Project Appleseed 25m events.

I'm attending. You are going to LOVE IT! Talladega is like heaven and Rusty and crew are excellent instructors.

I've a been to a couple KD's and seeds and have loved each and every one of them. I can't express how wonderful each event is.

If I have one piece of advice ... make sure your rifle has a zero on it. That way you can quickly get dialed in. To often, attendees spend all morning trying to get on paper and miss out on a lot.

I'm Mike. You can spot me on the line as the lefty shooting a 16 inch Seekins AR with a scope with a brown ground pad. Come say hi.

On the 4th Saturday of each month, Riverbend Gun Club near Dawsonville (also near Canton, and near Cumming) has a 100-yard 3-position match that's suitable for rimfire rifles.

It's iron sights only. No scopes allowed.

20 rounds standing / offhand (unsupported)
20 rounds sitting (with sling).
20 rounds prone (with TIGHT sling).

If you can hold a 5" group with 10 shots from the sitting and prone positions, you'll do well in this match. If you can do an 8" group from the standing position, that's great. You'll be right up there near the top for scoring.

This isn't just a "match." It's half match, and half TRAINING CLINIC, with plenty of instruction from master highpower rifle shooters who are excellent coaches and teachers.

I learnt some more and had a great time (always do).

I love Appleseeds because we get to shoot so many rounds under time pressure. It's like 4 competitions in one day. The one day events are intense and a challenge.

My rifle failed me. It started short stroking once we got to the 200 yard line. Actually, it started earlier but I ignored it. I now believe that I need to adjust the gas block. We'll see.

The next one day KD is Aug 11, a Friday. I'm thinking about redeeming my honor then and retesting/reconfirming the rifle.

That's me on the left. Did okay at 100 yards offhand, and fell apart the rest. Lack of preparation. Observe the awesome automated scoring system.

Last year, GA Gun Club hosted Appleseed clinics and I couldn't make the dates. I've been watching the web site for one close enough again. I'd really like to do one.
