Anyone know why the Sandy Springs Gun Club is still closed almost 2 years after the fire?

The last that I heard is that the storage facility proposal was turned down by the zoning people. The neighborhood objected due to a lack of parking.

The facility is built for a range. It would need to be highly modified for a storage building. There are already two storage places nearby (one is very close).

As near as I can tell, Georgia has an insatiable appetite for storage facilities. I don't think there can be too many.

Yes, but I try not to make a habit of it.

I drove in. It is being set up as a range with the same name (new signage is up). I'll update when I can get an opening date.

I found their website, but no one answers the phone, the submission form doesn't work and the email I sent got bounced back. It still says Monday on the site...I hope they open!

    Frank,
The only website that I found was the old business. What is the new website?

I meet a guy there yesterday (it's a good meeting place for legally trading guns). I made the pictures then (I bought an old Marlin 39A). It was plenty busy with several contractors working (inside and on the roof). Hopefully, it will open on time.

Hey guys, I'm the inventory manager for the Sandy Springs location. Thanks for the interest and notice in the store opening back up under new ownership! We will have our soft opening Monday, September 1st. Phones and website will be fully online soon, it's been a hectic couple of weeks rebuilding the location and getting all systems online to our standards.

    Thanks,

    James East

There are other threads on two other sites. I also got a PM from someone who knew the new owners (no names were disclosed to me).

I asked the sub-contractors that were working on the building, but they didn't seem to know much.

I live within walking distance of the range so I used it exclusively from 2010 until "the fire". It was a Rent to Own place before 2010. It was great since it was almost like a range in your backyard. I could fire 100 rounds and wouldn't miss eating lunch.

Greetings and Salutations Good Sir. Hail and Well Met. Dayum glad to see you here. Pleased someone got the message to you about the discussion here or however you found us.

Now, tell me you have some Tula 5.56 ammo, 55grain for a price under about $125/500 round brick and I claim the first 2.

I had already joined for the $30 monthly fee, and I fired down some ammo for the third time this month. Everyone is friendly, and their gun store selection is growing.

I noticed one guy repairing a lane (from the last weekend). Someone destroyed the wire that returns the target. How does anyone get off target to hit the upper wiring and destroy it?

I fired a revolver, a 1911, and two old lever guns in 30/30.

Both Winchester Model 94's were awesome and easily on target. I'll admit that my shoulder is a little sore after 20 rounds of 170 g. (I also had 150 g. but saved it).

Our targets hang 20'' below the carrier and 4' below the ceiling. Yet people still manage to shoot the lines and the ceiling. So if you can figure it out let me know.
