Wondering if my smallish hands will be sufficient. Heck, I had never heard of the FN 57. 5.7 x 28mm? Looks like expensive high velocity ammo, with low recoil. 20+1? Retailing nearly half the FN at around $600 maybe? Color me intrigued.

I gather one of the pluses is the alleged ability to stop criminals wearing soft body armor.

I saw a YT video where a 65gr 9mm Lehigh bullet at 1700fps went through one iiia plate but was stopped by a different model iiia plate.

I carry 90gr .357 Sig at 1700 fps, so mine would probably eat both plates.

Thinking about switching to 60gr 2100fps ammo.

I get them from Underwood. I wouldn't go with the 57, too tiny of a bullet for stopping power.

Liberty Ammunition makes something very similar. A 50 grain copper (not beryllium copper) 9mm +P bullet at 2,000 fps. Penetrates level 3a armor. Very pricey but it serves a niche.

I'd like to get my hands on one. I was interested in getting the FN but felt for the cost, the value just wasn't there. This may help even bring the cost of the FN itself down.
