Yes. I recently traded-into a full sized 9mm that has a 5" barrel and uses 16-round mags.
I have two extra mags (total of 3).
I'm thinking about packing that more often, so that if I'm around when the next public massacre nutjob reveals himself, I can engage him more effectively, and from much longer ranges, than I could with my normal "get off me" pocket sized gun.

44 Mag Mike: So you'd feel better about confronting a guy doing a mass shooting with an AR type rifle and emptying mag after mag of 5.56 mm rifle ammo?
Or a jihadist wielding an AK pattern rifle with 30 round mags or a 75-round drum?

The difference in stopping power between a .40 and .45 is significant to you? 3.3" of barrel vs. 3.1" of barrel is OK?

When I say I'm thinking of carrying a different gun in light of the mass public shooting terrorism threat, I'm talking about a full sized pistol with good accuracy at 25 or even 50 yards.

After two more public massacres in the last few days (El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH), this thread is once again relevant.

Should we rethink our daily carry guns in light of these recent events? Who among us could put rounds into a rifle-armed goblin at your local shopping mall, school, church, library, etc? You might first see the bad guy from a pretty long distance away, more than 25 yards. Maybe out to 50 or 75 yards.

Well, you've got a really sweet big-bore EDC pistol !
Heck, even our friend who was new to handgun shootings, having only used .22 rifles and skeet-range shotguns before, did very well at ringing the gong at 20 yards with your gun.
