I may be visiting Las Vegas soon. I understand I can carry openly with no permit in NV. How do the casinos and other tourist destinations respond to OC? Am I going to be getting kicked out of one casino and/or wedding chapel after another trying to find a place to spend my money?
MZ, I see that you have posted on opencarry, could also try http://www.packing.org/community/stateview/index.php and check the web sites for the casino that you may be going to.
You could bet on it. Never been to Vegas, but in Gulf Port I did see gunbusters signs. Can't imagine a casino allowing firearms into their establishment, they get testy enough when you get close to the money cart, and thats without a weapon.
Does Nevada have a "no guns in places that serve alcohol" law? If so then casinos would definately be out. Edit: Nevada has no retrictions on carry in places that serve alcohol. Don't know if the city of Vegas does though... This does remind me though.... Slabertooch, You going to poker tonight?
One can carry openly just about anywhere in NV. I just dont want to be hassled by private security if I can avoid it.
Greetings, I have been many times to Las Vegas. If you want some pointers what to see and a few hints, PM me and I'll give you my phone number so you can call me. One thing is Las Vegas has BIG restrictions on weapons. I do not know the details, but my friend native of Las Vegas told me it was kind of crazy in 1998 when he was there. And he told me it is worse now. Thank you
There aren't any big legal roadblocks to carry in Las Vegas. Just stay out of city parks and public buildings as prohibited by state and federal law.
Clarke County has gun registration. It is illegal to possess an unregistered gun in Clarke County. For more info, see the Nevada page on packing, org
They unofficially waive the registration for short term visitors. I emailed the local police to see if a 4 day stay would require registration.
From Packing.org North Las Vegas I am not sure if this is where all the casinos are but I could only guess. I can't find it but I seem to remember looking this up before, and I concluded then that I could not carry there so I didn't. I would definitely call before I "packed" for your trip.
I talked to LVMPD. I'll register my pistol (for free) at the local sub-station when we arrive. It looks like it's a bad idea to try to open carry in a casino, so the pistol will stay in my room safe unless we head outside the central city area.
