Any GPO members frequent the Elliot Street Pub in the Castleberry Hill section of Atlanta? Maybe you shouldn't anymore because of their little monthly event.

I wonder who the lucky charity might be?

Atlanta Photographers Guild held meetings there years ago, so not surprising they are still working with artists.

A worn out 1911 half-cast in iron would be a neat piece of mechanical art for my wall. I've done sand castings before and they look good when cleaned with a wire brush and seasoned in flaxseed oil.

I'd have to make sure that the weapons were obtained in accordance with state law and would need background information on the charity before I'd bid though.

The article says they were part of a Fulton county gun buyback. So unless sold to the artist, they are illegal guns.

Wasn't that limited to sales to licensed dealers?

I believe you are correct. But, either way they must be sold, not given away.

So Fulton County is violating a state edict?

I seem to recall it being auctioned off to dealers. I thought the intent was to prevent games being played with selling or "giving" to friends, family and such.

No, I'm certainly not shocked! Does the state have any recourse to prevent the county from repeating this?
