Does anyone here have a S&W M&P? If so, how do you like it?

I hate to say this, but I've shot my wife's XD-9 several times lately and have decided that think I'm getting a little bored with my G17. I have a habit of changing my mind about what I like every year or so. I'm half thinking about selling the Glock and getting a 4 1/2" M&P 9mm instead, and just wanted to get first hand opinions from people that have shot them.

Thanks,
Adam

Hate to say this but most affordable plastic guns shoot about same. The HKs and the SIGs (I know they aren't plastic) seem to shoot slightly better, IMO.

I am just saying this but you get the M&P and you'll probably be in the same boat a couple of months later.

I had one on T&E. It shot great for me during accuracy test, but when I started running it with any kind of speed the trigger reset gave me problems. I let two other instructors try it, and they had the same issues. I was at GPSTC for a class, and they trotted one out to run through some drills, and the instructors there had similar issues and opinions of that I had.

It feels great in the hand and has some good features, but I personally can run rings around it with a Glock and an XD.

It will take about a year or so. That's how long it took to decide to go from a Beretta 92FS to a .45 Baby Eagle, and about how long it took to go from the Baby Eagle to to the Glock 17.

i think the trigger is great. it did take a few rounds to get
used to it but, now i wouldn't carry anything else. i hate
the trigger on the glock, the way it's split it blisters my finger
and i don't like the way you have the tilt your hand forward
to line the sights up on the glock. never picked up an XD so
i couldn't tell you anything about them. :2cents:

I got to shoot Adam's new toy this morning and also fell in love with it.

Fits my hand almost perfectly, points and shoots well. I think I could go for one, but it'll have to wait just a little while longer as I'm lusting for a few other new toys that are ahead of it on my wish list.

Oh yeah, and I'll also need permission from SWMBO... [-(

Hey Adam:

About a year from now, maybe we should have a little talk. I'm thinking, like a car, 50% depreciation the first year...

I own the 40 cal compact version and love the thing. Easy to shoot, easy to clean and pretty accurate for its size. Feels great in the hand which is my main complaint on Glocks.
