Now that my AR is gone, I've started thinking about what I want to get when replacement time comes. I like the refinement of the AR, but am thinking about a fun blaster instead. I ran across this ( I also found them cheaper, but don't have a link handy)and also the stocks to make your own from an existing AK. I think the bullpup looks cool.

Has anyone here handled one.

with the AKBP, I really don't think I want to have my cheek weld right over the chamber, guess that's why I've never really been a fan of bullpups.

We have one at the shop. Personally, I'm not too sure about touching off 7.62 with the breech right next to my cheek like that.

Sure looks mean, though.
That's what I'm thining too. I may need to come by and fondle it and take a look. You're on Main St in Acworth, right?

.....Raising a hand.....

I built one,it was/is fron K-VAR and I assembled it on a MAK-90. Ergonomically it's rather poor - the length of pull is excessive, there isn't much betwee your supporting hand and the barrel, and the trigger pull is actually Worse than one of those cheap stablers at the Dollar Store. The plastic leaves a lot to be desired, I brokd the screw supports on the front handguard, twice, just putting it on tightly. KVAR sent replacements but the plastic isn't any sort of high-tech polymer, it's model-car quality. LonelyMachines is quite correct, the Only thing between you and a 7.62kaBoom is a Chinese sheet metal receiver cover and 1/8 inch of plastic. I only wish it was better because I Like the idea of a 7.62K bullpup. - - I started turning it back into a regular AK last month, will finish this wknd after the Gwinett county gun show.

Now, what I Have seen, as of last week is a Bushmaster M17S at Nick's Guns(?) in Acworth/Kennesaw area. It's better ergonomically, the barrel is tensioned by design which gives great accuracy, and the frame is aluminum, not plastic. Downsides? About same weight as a full-length AR, 5.56 caliber if that matters, and Bushmaster really should have put a better handgrip on it (sigh). Added- I just remembered this; Kel-Tec should be coming out with a 7.62x51mm Bullpup soon, or shortly, or sometime. The basic chassis seems to be a FAL upper with.....(gasp) forward ejection.
